The three day conference will cover diverse topics related to wild plant pathosystems, with sessions on Population Genetics, Comparative Genomics, and Ecology of all wild pathosystems from viruses to fungi.

The 4th International Meeting on Wild Plant Pathosystems is held from 7-10 July 2024 at the Seeburg conference venue in Kiel, Germany. The meeting aims to bring together diverse experts in fields related to wild plant pathosystems to exchange knowledge, present research, and discuss the latest developments.
Topics will range from Biodiversity and Systematics, Population Genetics, Comparative Genomics to Ecology and from truly specialized wild plant pathosystems to crop pathogens residing on wild hosts and everything in between.
The meeting will be divided in several sessions. Each session will have one keynote speaker (to be announced soon).
We still have a few slots open for additional speakers who will be selected from submitted abstracts.

Abstract poster submission and registration is open until May 31st 2024. Abstract submission for oral presentations is due May 15th.
We will provide a select number of fee waivers for MSc or PhD students. To apply, please tick the respective box on the application form and upload a letter from your supervisor/head of department confirming Ph.D. status and explaining why you require the waiver and how it benefits you. Priority will be given to those selected for oral or poster presentations
We also provide travel support to scientists from underrepresented regions and backgrounds. To apply, please tick the respective box on the application form and upload a motivation letter explaining why you would benefit from this funding. Please also include a cost estimate and, if applicable, a confirmation of student status. Priority will be given to those selected for oral presentations.
We have very limited funds available. The selections will be made at the discretion of the organizing committee.

Wild Plant Pathogens 2024 takes place from 8-10 July in the Seeburg Conference venue. Dusternbrookerweg 2, Kiel
The Seeburg conference location is a 10 minute bus ride or 20 minute walk from Kiel main station.
Kiel has a large selection of hotels, covering various price classes. You are free to select a hotel of your choice.
WPP will reserve a room contingent at several hotels close to the conference venue. These will be announced as soon as possible.
The registration fee is 150 EUR. The fee includes the welcome reception, conference dinner and a social activity on Wednesday afternoon.
The fee is to be paid after we announce the selected abstracts/participants. For those who can not afford the fees, we will offer the opportunity to apply for a fee waiver.
Yes, the majority of oral presentations and all posters will be selected based on submitted abstracts. The abstract submission deadline is May 15, 2024 for the last selected oral presentations.
The conference starts with a pre-conference welcome reception on Sunday 7 July 2024. The main conference will take place from Monday 8 July 2024 till the end of the afternnoon of Wednesday 10 July 2024.
We will have a little excursion on Tuesday 9 July 2024.
Yes, there are travel grants and registration fee waivers available for outstanding applicants worldwide. Please attach a motivational letter showing the impact of this conference on your career and a CV. if you provide a good abstract for a presentation on a relevant topic, you have a higher chance of getting support
